Question
Hi everyone, I'm in a trouble. I have a mini iPad with 5 GB of interactive magazines in newsstand and the ipad had run out of space. I can not delete the magazines because: 1) the publisher quitted the publication so my copies are (or will ever be) not downloadable anymore 2) I paid good money for them 3) I need them for work and they are top quality graphic design mags (annuals) My iPad is jailbroken, but I can't understand which Cydia app is good for extracting those files and backupping them. iFile maybe? I know I will have the problem of how to read the mags after they will be on my mac drive and not in iPad, but I have no other choice than trying. I will fix this second issue later. Any suggestion will be REALLY appreciated. Thanks!

Answer
Yes it is possibile to backup a magazine. I solved my issue with Xilisoft iPad Apps Transfer, backupping the whole Computer Arts .ipa app with all the magazines inside it (basically it's a folder). With the same tool I can re-load the backupped .ipa app into my ipad. I don't know if a jailbroken device is needed. Maybe not, but mine was. Xilisoft iPad Apps Transfer allows to backup and reload up to 5 apps in trial mode. Anyway it costs 10$, so it's a very nice price for what it does. I also backupped the content of the app - that is to say the 4-5 magazines folders and some other stuff including the viewer app - with I-Fun Box. This was not helpful to me because the pdf pages of the magazines where strongly locked by a password and the viewer app was not a mac app. So I had the content, but could not see it on my mac. I hope this post will help others: it took me two months to fix this stupid issue!
